1. REGISTRATION UPDATES

CTS TICKET MAILING: : E-tickets will be mailed out the end of next week. You will need to print out the e-ticket and bring it with you to the Registration booth at Camporee. You can still pick up your beautiful souvenir ticket(s) when you collect your wristband(s) at the Registration building. If you have sold tickets to another club, please see how to transfer tickets below. For more info, email admin@camporee.org or call the Center for Youth Evangelism at (800) 968-8428.

DAY PASSES: Day passes will be available for $55.00 US everyday at the west gate during the Camporee. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. If you do not want to make a $55.00 donation on Sabbath August 15th, buy your day passes now at our website.

AVAILABLE TICKETS: The only tickets available are volunteer tickets or day passes. If you would like to help by volunteering 5 hours per day (25 hours min), click here to download your application. CTS staff volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

RESELLING TICKETS: If you would like to trade, resell or exchange tickets, contact your conference youth director or feel free to use the CTS Facebook group to post your information or find available tickets. You can browse all the information but will need to create a Facebook account to post your details.

HOW TO TRANSFER TICKETS: The Camporee is not responsible for the reselling of any tickets. If you have sold tickets to another club, please follow the directions below to transfer your tickets:

  1. Log in to your Member's Area.
  2. Click on Transfer Tickets.
  3. Click on New Transfer.
  4. Read the instructions carefully.
  5. Enter the email address of the individual/club you are transferring your tickets to. The person you are transferring your tickets to must have a Camporee account.
    1. You may select the Hold transfer box if you would like to hold the transfer until payment has been finalized. Otherwise, the tickets will be directly transferred.
  6. Enter the quantity of each type of ticket you would like to transfer.
  7. Click Submit transfer.
  8. Follow the email instructions that you will receive.
If you have purchased tickets from another club, please follow the directions below to receive the transferred tickets. There are two ways to receive tickets.
  1. The person who is selling the tickets transfers them directly to you. In this case, you do not need to do anything more.
  2. The person who is selling the tickets obtains a release code to give you so that you can claim your tickets once the terms of your agreement have been reached. When both parties are satisfied that the terms have been met, the seller will send you the release code. You may click on the direct link that will come in the email or do the following:
    1. Log in to your Member's Area.
    2. Click on Claim Tickets.
    3. Enter the Release code from your email.
    4. Click Submit Release

 


 
 2. PRAYER - PETITION & PRAISE

ESTHER BIBLE STORY ACTORS: The nightly Bible story presentation has over 100 actors/extras, hundreds of costumes/props and 22 new theme story songs. We ask for your prayers for this nightly presentation.


 
3. DAYTIME PROGRAMMING

H2O BOTTLE ROCKETS: Come and participate in this exciting activity in which each participant will make their own rocket and then shoot it hundreds of feet in the air using only water and air pressure. DOUBLE-DUTCH ACTIVITY: Help Pathfinders learn how to jump in, and stay in between two twirling ropes, and see professionals go the extra mile doing tricks and stunts in the rope! ADVENTIST WORLD AVIATION: The Adventist World Aviation is seeking pilots and mechanics to vounteer to assist with aviation activities. For more information please contact Rita Damon at (920) 344-0463 or lrrh01@yahoo.com.

TALENT TENT: As a grand prize for the talent ten contestants, the top finalist each day (Tuesday-Saturday) will be offered the opportunity to be guests on a featured musical program on Hope Channel. The channel will provide a 30 minute professional produced DVD of the three top winners for their personal use. Expenses of travel to Silver Springs, MD, housing and other expenses will be the responsibility of the winner and/or their families. Hope Channel will produce the DVD master at its expense and own rights to its reproduction and sale; samples will be given to the winners. GT AIR SHOW: Come and see amazing bicycle tricks, similar to what is seen on ESPN's X Games and NBC's Dew Tour, on a Quarter Pipe, Box Jump, and Half Pipe ramp. The shows are fast paced and exciting, with riders performing aerials 20- 30 feet above the ramps, and technical flatland stunts being achieved on the ground. 2009 GT Slammer bikes will be raffled off daily! PUPPET WORKSHOP: Learn the art of puppetry from professional puppeteers from One Way Street-Denver, CO. There will be performances, and also workshop so that Pathfinders, and their leaders may take tools back to their churches. More info: Latoya Wolfe at wolfel@andrews.edu or call (269)471-8353.

HONORS REGISTRATION: There is no honor registration prior to the Camporee and most honors do not require pre-registration during the Camporee. However, the following honors do require pre-registration. Pathfinders can register at the Honors hangar Tuesday morning starting at 10:00 am for the Tuesday afternoon schedule and at 5:00 pm for the next day's honors that require pre-registration.

 PREACH IT! HONOR: Upper Columbia Pathfinders are hosting the new Preach It! Honor. The honor is a training tool for Pathfinders who want to preach split-screen evangelistic sermons. KNITTING HONOR & OLYMPIC 2010 SCARF MINISTRY: Help is needed to hand knit hundreds of scarves to be distributed by young people during the 2010 Winter Games. Clubs can complete the Knitting honor. Bring your finished scarves to the British Columbia Conference Camp ground for special dedication and shipping for the games. LETTERBOXING HONOR: The Oregon Conference will be sponsoring this honor. They will display the honor requirements and resources needed to complete this new honor. For those who have started this honor and bring their stamp and log book, a special CTS stamp will be available to imprint into their logbooks. You can also imprint your stamp in a special logbook at the booth. The booth will provide a site to exchange stamp imprints with other letterboxes. 4. NIGHTTIME PROGRAMMING

INVESTITURES: If you are interested in the Master Guide/PLA/PIA Investiture please click here and fill in the application. Please make sure to fax your application to (269)471-8355. The pins will be available for purchase at the AdventSource booth only for those who have registered to be invested at the Camporee. Deadline has been extended to June 19 at noon. TRANSLATORS NEEDED: We are looking for Spanish, Portuguese and French translators each night for the evening program and Sabbath morning. If you are able to help at least one program; contact James Mangum at jmangum@gscsda.org ASAP.

MUSCLES NEEDED: We are looking for 20 volunteers August 2-18, 2009 who would be willing to work long hard physical days. If you got serious muscles and a great attitude; contact Erin Hannah at hannahe@andrews.edu or call (269)471-8388.

VIDEO OPERATORS: The day in review team are looking for 2 more camera operators and assistants. If interested, send a youtube link of your filming talent to David Yeagley at david.yeagley@wc.npuc.org.

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS NEEDED: We are looking for interpreters for each evening program and Sabbath morning. If you are able to help at least one program; contact Sarah Brown at sab9036@nyp.org.

MORDECAI ACTOR NEEDED: Calling all wiser generation pathfinders! We are seeking one male actor 50+ years of age that could help portray the character of Mordecai. This person would need to be available July 21st through August 17th. Please send us your DVD or YouTube link with a 60 second monologue, preferably showing both a serious and funny side. 2009 BIBLE-&- BUCK PROJECT: Bring an English or Spanish Bible and a dollar bill to cover shipping cost to help share the gospel to someone in another country. At the 2004 FOF Camporee, we collected 32,000 Bibles (18,000 dollars in shipping). Just think, if we all bring just 1 Bible and a buck; we will have 35,000 Bibles to give away around the world. NIGHTTIME SEATING: We encourage you to bring a chair to sit through the nighttime program to have the best experience each night.


 
5. FACILITY / CAMPSITE

ICE: Blocked and crushed ice will be available at the Big Red Barn starting Monday August 10th at noon. Ice will be for sale from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m, Tuesday through Friday. Be sure to bring a "little red wagon" to hall the bags of ice back to your campground.

  • Crushed ice: 7lb bag for $2.50 US.
  • Crushed ice: 20 lb bag for $5.00 US.
  • Block ice: 11 lb for $5.50 US.

 LOST AND FOUND: If you lose any clothing or towels during the Camporee, go to the registration building to claim them until 10:00 am on August 16, 2009. After this date, all clothing and towels will be donated to the local Adventist Community Service and only non-clothing items will be logged into the lost and found.

PROPANE TANK REFILLS: We plan to have a propane refill station near the South Gate where the RV pumping station is. Look for more information in our next newsletter for times and prices.


 
6. SECURITY / TRANSPORTATION / MEDICAL

SWINE FLU HEALTH ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CAMPOREE MEDICAL TEAM: "Please monitor the health of your pathfinder team as we get closer to the Camporee. If there are any illness epidemics in your locality, please notify us as soon as possible so we can monitor this concern. Your medical team is keeping a pulse of the national and local epidemic medical concerns and we will be wise to the possible threats that may present themselves and provide appropriate guidance for your health and safety." - David L. MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The medical team is still in need of:

  • Paramedics
  • EMTs
  • Nurses
  • Doctors with specialties in: Pediatric, emergency, dental, general practice, internal medicine, general surgery and OB. Ophthalmology, dermatology and psychiatry, on call as needed.
We also need volunteers who would be willing to be praying for the safety of the camp, assist with communication management, crowd control, managing/cleaning waste, golf cart maintenance and chaplains. More info: Pam Krueger at kregfam@charter.net.

8. TRAVEL INFORMATION

BUS TRANSFER FROM AIRPORTS: Travel Leaders agency is providing bus transfers from different neighboring airports at a fee; so far they have 75 transfers from Milwaukee, 71 from Midway and 13 from Appleton airport. If you would like to book an airport bus transfer, call (920)426-3550 or click here.

OFFSITE ACCOMMODATIONS: There are about 300 rooms available in Gruenhangen - dormitories at the University of Wisconsin, all within 25 minutes or less of the CTS/EAA campground. Rooms with air conditioning are $40/night and rooms without it are $35/night. Attendees would need to call and mention they are participating in the Courage to Stand Pathfinder Camporee to get the discounted price. To reserve a room, call Marc Nylen at (920) 424-1106. 9. RESOURCES

BULK FOOD PRE-ORDERS: Pathfinders can now order bulk food items from a local vendor called Sysco. The pre-orders can be ordered up until August 8, 2009 and will be delivered to Red Barn at the EAA grounds on August 11, 2009 at noon. All orders will be COD (charged on delivery) upon delivery. 10. INTERNATIONAL UPDATES

INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATION IS CLOSED: The deadline for international registration closed on May 6th. We have sold over 2,000 tickets for pathfinders and leaders in 65 countries representing all 13 world divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist church. We have 1580 being hosted, 493 not being hosted, making a total of 2073 international participants.

INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS: International guests can interview to volunteer when they arrive at the Camporee. They cannot purchase a volunteer staff ticket to enter the Camporee. They have to be in possession of an international ticket to come to Camporee, where they can volunteer, if needed.

RESELLING OF INTERNATIONAL TICKETS: International tickets are reselling globally. We have two from the Mongolian field - first ever to Camporee - buying tickets from the Caribbean and two from Thailand connecting with Australia. If your group is looking for more tickets, check the Camporee facebook page. Note that all tickets purchased through facebook are nonrefundable, letters of confirmation are not available, and accommodation will be your own responsibility (no hosting unless you're joining a group that is hosted and the host agreed to add you).

INTERNATIONAL GUESTS CAMPING INDEPENDENTLY: There will be chairs and tables, and several large marquees - giant tents - to be shared by the groups who have registered to camp independently. Please email Glynis Bradfield at international@camporee.org if you are camping independently, and if your group size changes.

COMMUNICATE WITH HOSTS: Thank you for being considerate of the generous offer of hosts to share tents and meals with you. If you haven't been introduced to your host, email Glynis Bradfield at international@camporee.org before June 30. Be sure to email your group's arrival and departure times, as well as the gender and age of all group members. If members of your group are denied visas, please let your host know. If your group gets bigger, please ask your hosts if they're willing to take a few more.

11. VOLUNTEER - STAFF

 TLT VOLUNTEERS: We are still in need of 275 TLTs who can serve 5 hours a day. These are different areas needed:

  • 150 for honors
  • 20 for parade on Wednesday and Sabbath
  • 20 for transportation
  • 20 for water distribution on Sabbath morning
  • 50 whenever needed


Here is how to register a quality TLT:
  1. For the director (or person who bought the ticket)
    1. Set up a volunteer account
      • Go to the Already Registered page of the website.
      • Log in with your username and password.
      • In the Member's Area that appears, click on "Set up volunteer accounts."
      • Enter the names, usernames and passwords for each applicant you would like to create an account for.
      • Log Out.
  2. For the TLT
    1. Apply to be a volunteer
      • You will receive an email telling you your username and password.
      • Go to the Volunteer Tab of the website.
      • Log in to your volunteer account (the information from the email).
      • Click on "TLT Volunteer Application."
      • Fill out all four pages of the application and click "complete."
      • In the page that appears click "Download Application Form."
        • Clicking this will give you a pdf file.
      • Save the resulting pdf to your computer.
      • Print the pdf.
      • Give the leader endorsement forms to the appropriate people.
      • Sign and date the form.
      • Send the application by mail or fax.

2004 OSHKOSH COMMUNITY RETAIL STORIES: We want to know what items the local area stores ran out of in 2004. We've heard about hot dog buns, peanut butter, fruit, beans at Taco Bell, and ground tarps for tents.
